I spent Monday aboard a tuna boat and at a local fish wholesaler for Bloomberg News.

San Diego used to be a huge hub for tuna canneries but these days, doesn't get nearly as many offloads from fishermen.

This particular boat was from McAdam's Fish LLC and had been fishing down off Clipperton Island, a possession of France.

The company says they had the exclusive fishing rights to the area and hauled back tons of tuna.

Back at Catalina Offshore, I watched as the employees sliced and diced some black cod and yellowtail.

It was a fun day, even though I came back smelling a little fishy.
